Tips
Type = to enter a formula (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, SUMIF…) and click other cells to insert references; drag the small square at the corner of the selection to fill; Ctrl+Z to undo; the Data tab has condition filters, multi-level sort, remove duplicates, dropdown lists, text to columns, flash fill, subtotals and AI table analysis; the Insert tab adds charts (saved as real Excel charts), pivot tables, sparklines and QR codes; the Page layout tab sets margins, paper size, print area, repeating titles, fit to page, headers / footers and print preview.
Good to know
Values, formulas, formatting, merged cells, images and notes are kept when saving; charts, pivot tables, shapes and macros are preserved as-is (not editable on the web yet). Right-click a cell to insert / delete rows and columns, paste special or add a note. Unsaved sheets are kept in your browser for 7 days.
FAQ
Is my Excel file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened and edited in your browser; unsaved drafts stay in your own browser storage (removed after 7 days).
Will saving lose the original formatting?
No. Values, formulas, colors, borders, merged cells, column widths, images and notes are kept; existing charts, pivot tables, shapes and macros are preserved as-is when saving (charts created on the web stay editable).
